300+ Bible Verses Flat-Earthers Misinterpret Debunked
How We Know The Flat-Earth Movement Is Not From God
Belief in the Flat-Earth Requires You To Sin
As of 2017, there are 72 space agencies around the world with 14 having the ability to launch satellites into space.[1] There are numerous commercial space agencies [2], communication satellite companies [3], satellite, space component, and space vehicle manufacturers [4], military personnel that operate or rely on satellites, and a multitude of (satellite based) GPS tracking companies around the world and their consumers. We are talking about millions of people employed by these agencies, companies, and contractors. In addition, we have countless military personnel that use satellites and are involved in the space program or missile systems. Yet, according to flat-earth doctrine, satellites, space travel, and all photos from space are fake. Therefore, to believe in the flat-earth you are required to bear false witness against millions of people and accuse all of them of being liars, and deceptive which is clearly a sin in the Bible.
"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." 1 John 3:4
"You shall not spread a false report." Exodus 23:1 --- Spread a false report and it's SIN!
"A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape." Proverbs 19:5 --- SIN!
"Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked." Exodus 23:7 --- SIN!
Proverbs 6:16-19 King James Version (KJV)16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Flat-earthers may think they are justified in making accusations against satellites employees, NASA employees, and those who work in Antarctica, based on their flimsy "evidence," but all flat-earthers present are assumptions, rumors, baseless claims, misunderstandings, and angry outrage. However, as we see by the scriptures listed above, it's against God's word to spread false reports and to slander people with weak claims.
If flat-earthers truly had solid evidence against a company or a space agency that proves that agency or company is defrauding the public then why don't flat-earthers bring it before a court of law? They don't and won't because they know their weak claims would not hold up in court, and their case would be thrown out. Therefore, it's easier for them to build an audience of supporters promoting conspiracy theories, because they know people love mystery and intrigue no matter if it's true or a lie.
Without the ability to make false accusations against others, the whole flat-earth movement would collapse. If flat-earthers acknowledged that space travel was possible, photos from space are real, and satellites in space actually work, then the flat-earth movement would go flat. Therefore, to fuel the flat-earth movement, false accusations must continue and truth must be ignored. This proves the modern flat-earth movement is far from a God-inspired movement.

What Is The Earth According To The Bible?
Before we look for scriptures or address scriptures that speak about the earth, we must understand what the earth is according to the Bible. Most people see a verse with the word "earth" in it and assume it references the entire planet. However, that assumption would be wrong.
When the Bible speaks of the earth (Hebrew "erets") it can mean one of the following:
Planet Earth - "And the earth was without form, and void..." Genesis 1:2
The Land on The Earth - "And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good." Genesis 1:10
The People of The Earth - Genesis 11:1 "And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech."
Now, we know the earth does not literally speak, so when this scripture says "the whole earth" it's referring to the people and not the land or planet.
Understanding these different meanings for the word earth "erets" is important in understanding the context of scripture so we can properly interpret scriptures.

Is the Earth Fixed & Immovable?
Flat-earthers claim the Bible teaches the earth is fixed and unable to move, so they believe the Bible is describing a flat, stationary earth. 1 Chronicles 16:30 - "Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved."
FLAT-EARTH INTERPRETATION DEBUNKED - 1 Chronicles 16:30 is a song written in a poetic format. In fact, 1 Chronicles 16:9 says: “Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him…” So, if you want to interpret 1 Chronicles 16:30 with a hyper-literal interpretation and claim the earth cannot be moved, it cannot spin, proclaiming "the Bible teaches the earth is flat," then don’t forget to also use your same hyper-literal interpretation to teach the rest of 1 Chronicles chapter 16. The earth literally trembles in fear according to the first part of verse 30. Don’t forget your hyper-literal interpretation of 1 Chronicles chapter 16 will also require you to teach that oceans roar like a lion and trees can sing as described in verses 32 and 33. Can you begin to see the conflicts and troubles you create by interpreting scriptures with a hyper-literal view? Your spiritual immaturity will be evident.
Other scriptures flat-earthers use to "prove" the earth is fixed and stationary to debunk a rotating globe include:
Psalm 93:1 - "The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved."
Psalm 96:10 - "Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously."
Psalm 104:5 - "Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed forever."
Psalm 119:89-90 - "LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth."
FLAT-EARTH INTERPRETATION DEBUNKED - The proper interpretation of established [Tikkoon] Strong's H3559 is something that is certain, setup, it stands, it's resolute, confirmed, appointed, steadfast, installed, it maintains its order, it's ordained by God, and given a purpose to fulfill. Here are a few examples:
Isaiah 45:18 says God established the earth to be inhabited. Why was the earth “ESTABLISHED?” To be inhabited! It wasn't "established" to be locked down and unable to move as flat-earthers believe.
“The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared / established ( Strong’s 3559) the light and the sun.” Psalm 74:16
“It shall be established (Strong’s 3559) for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.”
Other passages used different Hebrew word for "established" such as: Psalm 148:3, 5-6 says God established (Amad - Strong's H5975) the sun, moon, and stars to be around forever.
Even flat-earthers admit the sun, moon, and stars are not fixed and unable to move. Therefore, we can see establish [Tikkoon], its root word Koon, or other Hebrew words translated as "established" do not prove the Bible is saying the earth is fixed, locked down, and unable to move.

FIXED & IMMOVABLE FLAT-EARTH DEBUNKED - When the bible says “The Earth Shall Not Be Moved” as in 1 Chronicles 16:30, and Psalms 93:1, 96:10, and 104:5, it does not mean the globe earth cannot spin. The Hebrew word for “moved” is "timote" from the root word [mote] and this word means the earth WILL NOT teeter, slip, fall, falter, be brought down, deviate, be overthrown, be out of course, be carried away, or be shaken out of course. It means the earth can rotate and spin, but it will not deviate on its own from the way God designed it to operate.
To claim the spherical earth is fake because it cannot rotate or spin based on the above-listed scriptures is a misuse and misunderstanding of these verses.
Here are the facts that debunk flat-earthers, the same phrase about “not being moved” and the same Hebrew root word for not being moved that’s found in 1 Chronicles 16:30, Psalms 93:1, 96:10, and 104:5 is also used in:
Proverbs 12:3 where it says: “A man shall not be established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.”
Psalm 55:22 says: “Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.”
Psalm 112:5-6 states: “A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. Surely he shall not be moved forever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.”
Using Flat-Earth Interpretation with Other Verses Shows Its Silliness
So, if flat-earthers interpret and believe 1 Chronicles 16:30, Psalms 93:1, 96:10, and Psalms 104:5 mean the earth is fixed and unable to move, or spin then they are also required to apply their same hyper-literal interpretation to the verses that say the righteous “shall not be moved.” Therefore, that would mean (according to their method of interpreting scripture), righteous men and women are fixed to the earth and immovable, they are unable to move, walk, spin or turn, like they claim the earth is fixed and unable to move. This example shows the silliness of how they interpret the Bible.

Does The Earth Have Corners?
Isaiah 11:12 - "And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth."
Revelation 7:1 - "And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree."
FLAT-EARTH 4 CORNERS DEBUNKED - The earth does not have four corners as flat-earthers claim. Their interpretation of the bible is flawed. The video below will debunk the flat-earth fallacy concerning the four corners and show what the Bible really means when it talks about the four corners of the earth.

Job 38 Does Not Prove The Earth is Flat
Job 38:12-14 - "Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place; that it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it? It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment."
Flat-Earthers claim the earth looks like wax crushed by a seal.
Wrong!
FLAT-EARTH INTERPRETATION DEBUNKED
What does Job 38:12-14 really say?
The scripture does not mention wax, it says clay, so the image flat-earthers like to use of a seal pressing an image into wax is wrong. The Hebrew word in Job 38:14 is "chomer," (Strong's H2563), means clay, mud, mortar (not wax).
Another fact about Job 38:12-14 that flat-earthers get wrong is they think this is a one-time event. They treat this passage of scripture as if it's a creation passage. They want you to believe that God used a colossal seal and pressed an image of the flat earth into the mud during creation. That's wrong, that's not what this passage of scripture is showing us. This passage has nothing at all to do with the creation of the earth or the shape of the planet.
Let's look at the passage:
King James Version
12 Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring (Sunrise) to know his place;
13 That it (The Light of the Sun) might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it (The Earth)?
14 It (The Earth) is turned as clay to the seal; and they (wicked) stand as a garment.
15 And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.
Another fact about Job 38:12-14 that flat-earthers get wrong is they think this is a one-time event. They treat this passage of scripture as if it's a creation passage. They want you to believe that God used a colossal seal and pressed an image of the flat earth into the mud during creation. That's wrong, that's not what this passage of scripture is showing us. 12 Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring (Sunrise) to know his place;
Job 38:12 Is talking about the morning sunrise.
Job 38:13 Is talking about the morning sunrise reaching out to the ends of the earth (The land - Genesis 1:10) and the wicked who did their evil deeds in the night are removed or scatter from the land during the daylight.
Job 38:14 Is talking about the light of the morning rolling across the earth, and the land is turned/changed as the rolling of a seal changes clay.
Job 38:14 is not a one time creation event.
The Earth is turned/changed as clay to a seal
every morning!
The context of Job 38:12-14 shows that every morning when the light of the sun hits the earth, the darkness of the night is pushed back and the land is turned/changed. Therefore, this whole flat earth claim that God made the earth like wax pressed by a seal is false teaching.
Job 38:12-14 is talking about how the earth/dry land changes every morning and has nothing to do with the creation of the earth or the shape of the earth.
Job 38:12-14 is talking about how the earth/dry land changes every morning and has nothing to do with the creation of the earth or the shape of the earth.
One other factor to consider is that Job 38:14 is entirely different in the Greek version of the Old Testament (The Septuagint). In the Greek Old Testament the same passage reads as follows: "Or did you take clay of the ground, and form a living creature, and set it with the power of speech upon the earth?" LXX Job 38:14
Even the Septuagint proves Job 38:12-14 has nothing to do with the shape of the earth. (NOTE: The Septuagint is a Greek translation from a Hebrew text that was earlier than the Masoretic Hebrew text we have in our Bibles today. The Septuagint was written between 200-150 B.C. and was quoted by the apostles. The Masoretic text did not exist until the 10th - 11th century A.D.)
It should be clear that Job 38:12-14 cannot be used to prove a flat-earth. However, it does imply rotation. The earth spins in a 24-hour period, turning out of the darkness and into the light of the sun whose light rolls across the earth like a cylinder seal upon the clay.

Isaiah 40:22
Isaiah 40:22 "It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in"
FLAT-EARTH INTERPRETATION DEBUNKED - Isaiah 40:22 does not represent a flat-disk earth as flat-earthers claim. This can be verified by the Hebrew and Greek text of Isaiah. The video below will prove that Isaiah 40:22 affirms the earth is a globe and used the perfect word to describe the globe earth. The Hebrew word Isaiah used is rooted in the concept of rotation. The Hebrew word for a ball is used for a toy that is kicked and thrown around which is why Isaiah did not use it. The Hebrew word for circle is translated as "Gyro" in the Greek Septuagint, which also indicates rotation and curvature as seen in the Septuagint version below.
"He is the one controlling the curve of the earth..." Isa. 40:22 ABP based on the LXX

Is The Firmament A Dome?
Genesis 1:6-8 - "And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day."
FLAT-EARTH INTERPRETATION DEBUNKED - Take note that God does not call the firmament a dome. He calls the firmament/expanse "Heaven." In the Hebrew text, the firmament is a stretching/expanse. Yet, there is nothing in the Hebrew text that states this expanse is a solid dome.
Genesis 1:14-18 - "And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good."
FLAT-EARTH INTERPRETATION DEBUNKED - If you look at the flat-earth model you will notice flat-earthers place the stars in or on the firmament, but they place the sun and moon under the firmament, hovering over the earth. Therefore, the sun and moon are not located in the firmament as the stars are. So, the flat-earth model is not scriptural.
Genesis 1:20 - "And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven."
FLAT-EARTH INTERPRETATION DEBUNKED - Notice the scriptures say the expanse of the heavens (Firmament) is OPEN. Yet, flat-earthers claim the firmament is a closed dome over the earth. The Bible says the heavens cannot be measured (Jeremiah 31:37), but flat-earthers claim they know the height of their dome (3,100 miles). This proves their doctrine is unscriptural.
Job 37:18 - "Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?"
FLAT-EARTH INTERPRETATION DEBUNKED - In the Hebrew Job 37:18 is not a glass, but a mirror, so it should read as a molten mirror which is made of metal. The Hebrew word for clouds [shachaq], is used which occurs 21 times and is always sky or clouds and never a dome. The Hebrew word for strong is [chazaq] and it can mean strong or mighty. Therefore, the verse could read "Hast thou with him spread out the clouds, which are mighty, and as a molten mirror?" This is the perfect description of a hot desert storm. The clouds appear solid, dark orange, filled with dust, and lighting. This makes more sense in the Hebrew text than trying to manipulate the verse to fit a flat-earth cosmology and claim the verse is speaking of a dome. Keep in mind God called the firmament "heaven" [Hebrew: shamayim], which does not appear in this verse.
Let's also remember the context of Job 37:
1 At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.
2 Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.
3 He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.
4 After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.
5 God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
6 For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.
9 Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
10 By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
11 Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:
12 And it [cloud] is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
13 He causeth it [cloud] to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
14 Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
15 Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
16 Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
17 How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
18 "Hast thou with him spread out the clouds, which are mighty, and as a molten mirror?"
19 Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.
20 Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.
21 And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.
22 Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.
23 Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.
24 Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
As you can see, the context of Job 37 is the weather with a heavy emphasis on the clouds, thunder, and rain that can be used for judgment or to bless the land. Job 37:18 flows with the context of the chapter and is speaking about the clouds -- Not a dome.
Psalm 19:1 - "To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork."
Psalm 150:1 - "Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power."
FLAT-EARTH INTERPRETATION DEBUNKED - Psalm 19:1 and Psalm 150:1 don't offer any proof of a dome as the firmament is not a dome. It's an expanse of the heaven.
Isaiah 40:22 - "It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in"
FLAT-EARTH INTERPRETATION DEBUNKED - First, we already proved that Isaiah 40:22 is talking about a round/curved earth and not a flat-earth. Second, the spreading out of the heavens is exactly what the expanse/firmament is, an expanse of the heaven, but it's not a solid dome.
Ezekiel 1:22-26 - "And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above. And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies. And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings. And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings. And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne wasthe likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it."
Ezekiel 10:1 - "Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne."
FLAT-EARTH INTERPRETATION DEBUNKED - Ezekiel 1:22-26 & 10:1 is a vision. This vision was not talking about a dome over the earth. What these verses are talking about is what is often called the Chariot of God [Psalm 18:10-11,68:17, 104:3; Daniel 7:9; Jeremiah 4:13; and Isaiah 66:15]. Ezekiel said there is something "like" a firmament / Expanse over the heads of the living creatures that was like the color of a bright crystal. Also see Exodus 24:10. Again, this vision has nothing to do with a dome over the earth.
Daniel 12:3 - "And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever."
FLAT-EARTH INTERPRETATION DEBUNKED - No one denies there is a firmament/expanse. God created the expanse/firmament in Genesis chapter 1, but we disagree this expanse/firmament is a solid dome over the earth. There is no proof of this solid dome. Therefore, this verse in Daniel is not proof of a dome. This verse just states the firmament has a brightness to it. This is clearly the brightness of the expanse/firmament during the day.

THE FLAT-EARTH DOME DEBUNKED - There is no scriptural proof for a solid dome over the earth.
Some like to use Amos 9:6 as proof of a dome because the NASB uses the word "dome" and some translations use the word arch:
"It is he who builds his chambers in the heavens, and has founded his vault on the earth; he who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the surface of the earth; the LORD is his name."
However, an accurate study shows the word dome is incorrect as is the word "vault" used by other translations. This flawed interpretation is based on the assumption by Bible translators that the Hebrew word "aguddah" might be the same as the Arab word "ijad" for an arch. [5] However, this is like trying to interpret French by using Spanish. Not an accurate method of interpretation. Plus we have clear examples of how the word is used in the Bible.
The context of Amos chapter 9 validates the word troop as indicated in the King James, Young's Literal Translation, and the Webster Bible.
The other three occurrences of this word is never translated as an arch or dome, but either as bunch or troop:
Exodus 12:22 - "And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop..."
2 Samuel 2:25 - "And the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together after Abner, and became one troop..." (Band/troop a group or army).
Isaiah 58:6 - "Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness..."
FAQ
Doesn't the word FIRMament mean a solid dome over the earth?
No! The original Hebrew text uses the word "raqia" which means stretching/expanding and NOT A DOME. In the Septuagint, the word "raqia" is translated as "stereōma" which means established, steadfast, and support. NOT A DOME. The Latin text is influenced by the Septuagint so stereoma is translated as firmāmentum and firmament in English. Firmamentum means the foundation of a supporting argument [6], in the Latin Vulgate firmementum is used for grain on top of a mountain because the grain sustains the people [7], and in Psalm 24:14 of the Vulgate [Psalm 25:14 in KJV] it says: "The Lord is a firmament to them that fear him: and his covenant shall be made manifest to them." [8] But, God is not a dome. Therefore, we cannot claim firmamentum / firmament means a dome, because it can mean many things. The firmament discussed in Genesis is an expanse or stretching and support for the heavens [The earth's atmosphere and space] that go far beyond a snow globe dome made up in the minds of flat-earthers. "...Behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?" 1 Kings 8:27 KJV
The Bible Clearly Debunks The False Doctrine of The Flat-Earth.
