Time to Question GotQuestions.org

​Have you ever turned to GotQuestions.org for biblical information on any topic? In the past, I have agreed with some of the answers given by GotQuestions.org, but also disagree with many of their opinions. I estimate that I agreed with about 40% of the answers on the site. Well, today, I think I reached a point of finally distrusting the answers given by the authors of the website.

I came across a video produced by GotQuestions.org on the Nephilim. Here is a link to the video:

At the time I viewed the video, July 27, 2019, the video received 28,335 views. So, that’s over 28,000 people who were exposed to the nonsense found on this video. In writing this, I am sure the curiosity of my readers will compel them to see the video for themselves and add to the number of viewers, which will probably make the video a bigger success. However, I think it’s more important to expose a problem than to say nothing.

Let me start by letting everyone know that I take issue with all the Nephilim craze that is going on in the Body of Christ. Everywhere you look, it appears someone wrote a book, is holding a conference or is on Christian television talking about the Nephilim. Believers are more focused on Nephilim than on Christ.
I kind of thought or at least had hope that GodQuestions.org would have reasonable and realistic teaching on the Nephilim topic. I was very disappointed in their video response to the Nephilim topic.

First of all, the video on the Nephilim from GotQuestions.org starts out with a photo of what appears to be an archaeological dig with a giant human skull, that looked to be about 5 foot wide. Many of these photos float around the internet and have been proven to be faked, so why would GotQuestions.org use an image like this? To use a questionable source takes away the credibility of your answer but read further because it gets worst.

Second, GotQuestions.org, inserted their own interpretation of what the Sons of God were, which they claim are demons. Where did they come up with that conclusion? They tell you right away (0:19) that it’s based on their opinion. I am glad they revealed that, but sound biblical teaching is not based on ideas but on the word of God alone.

Third, after giving their answer of why demons would procreate with human woman, GotQuestions.org made a disclaimer at (0:59) of the video, which warned that their solution is not specifically a biblical answer. Thank you for being honest, but people go to your website to get biblical answers, not speculation.  
Finally, after more speculation, the video points to mythology and careless handling of scripture to back their claims about the Nephilim. The video production was good, but the narration and conclusion of the video sounded like a book report written by a sixth grader.

If you read a website, article, book, or video and the author tells you their conclusions are based on speculations, first congratulate them for being honest, but then move on to a resource that provides scripture to explain scripture. Don't put your trust in speculation, opinions, or someone reading into the scripture what the Bible does not teach.
